Why music is good for your new baby (and for you too!)
The Triumphant Mom - 24 March, 2010
When my daughter was a newborn I sang all of the time. I sang when she cried, I sang when we walked, I sang to fill up the silences or when I felt a bit lonely. I suffered from PPD and singing seemed to help me get through it. I made up songs about her animals, diapering and as I recall I sang a lot of songs from the 'Brother Where Art Thou' soundtrack. I don't have a great voice (I don't have a terrible voice either) - but of course that is not the point - anyone can sing. I also played classical music and some of my favorite CD's at the time.
