Nicole Rawson-Huff

Nicole is a child development specialist with more than 20 years experience working with parents and young children. She currently works as a Parents as Teachers Educator and Trainer, where she trains early childhood workers to empower parents to build the skills necessary to help children make the most of their crucial early-learning years. She trained as a Child Life Specialist at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, gaining valuable skills in children's play therapy to reduce the trauma to children caused by hospitalization.

Nicole is a Certified Facilitator for ‘Raising Kids with Special Needs’ and an Infant Massage Instructor. She was also the founding manager of TotLine, a parent information phone line.

Nicole works with the International Program of Psycho-Social Research (IPP-SHR), which documents the experiences of children and adults who live with a serious illness (physical and mental).  She has enjoyed collaborating with Dr. Olson Huff on The Triumphant Child book series and regularly contributes to the Sixty Second Parent website.

Nicole is the very proud mother of two lovely, inquisitive, and energetic children, who have taught her that the best gift you can give a child is to ‘listen’.
