Dr. Blanchard is a lifelong Tar Heel. After growing up in the Western NC Mountains, Laura received her Bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her Master of Science in Public Health at UNC-CH School of Public Health, and her MD from UNC School of Medicine. Dr. Blanchard spent three years in Charlottesville, VA — for her Pediatrics Residency. She is particularly interested in child advocacy, children with special healthcare needs, and Latino community health. Currently, Dr. Blanchard practices general pediatrics at Wake County Human Services Child Health Clinic in Raleigh, NC. Laura lives in Chapel Hill with her husband Matt, their delightful toddler Zachary, two dogs, one cat, and one fish. Friends often assume that being a pediatrician makes Dr. Blanchard a particularly skilled mother, but in fact, she has found that being a mom has made her a better pediatrician.
